Decorated with floral reserves, all finely painted in deep underglaze blue. This type of vase is known from garniture sets from the Kangxi period; however, this most unusual form in our experience is extremely rare and, more frequently observed in later 18th century porcelain. The form was presumably done to facilitate use on a shallow bracket or cabinet- and give the illusion of the larger variety.
