Rare Pair of Chinese Glazed Biscuit Porcelain Recumbent Fu Lions

Description

Supporting vases upon their backs.  Forming a true pair, right and left.  Beautifully decorated in deep famille verte glazed enamels.  Of fine quality.
Heights: 7 1/8 inches (18.1 cm.)
A similar pair was in the collection of George Davies (published by Gorer, 1913, Pl. XIX).  Others were in the J.P. Morgan collection as well as other noted early collections.
