Fine and Very Rare Set of Three Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Vases and Covers

Kangxi period, ca: 1700

Description

Decorated with reserves of Court ladies and flowering plants.  All finely painted in deep underglaze blue. 
Heights: 18 ½ inches (47 cm.)
An almost identical single and a related pair of vases are in the Taft Museum, (1995, pp. 584-585).  Another single from the Garland and Morgan Collections once handled by our gallery is now in a private American collection.  Others from the Salting Collection are in the Victoria & Albert Museum. This is the first set of this type that we have seen in 20 years or more.
