The Bodhisattva Guanyin is one of the most popular figures to be found in Chinese porcelain. These figures may be found in a remarkable variety of models and poses. Guanyin was the Bodhisattva of Mercy and Hearer of Prayers. She was also revered as a protector of women and children, and protector of fishermen.
