Large Chinese Famille Verte Glazed Biscuit Porcelain Fu Lion

Description

Finely modeled in the full round.  Comprising the male component of a pair (male and female).  Posed seated upon his haunches with front paw holding a brocaded all.  All finely decorated in bright enamels.  This is one of the finest and largest types of Fu Lion porcelain models from this period.  They are a rare type to encounter outside of museums with similar examples in major collections noted below.
