CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN ROULEAU VASE,

Decorated with a scene depicting the famous episode of the Tang poet Li Tai-Bo at the Court of the Tang Emperor Xuan Cong. When invited to make himself comfortable, the poet asked for the assistance of the Official Gao Lizhi to pull off his boots. The scene became famous as an example of attainment of literary success.
Of the Kangxi period, AD 1662-1722
