Of broad saucer shape. Decorated with a scene from the famous Romance of the Western Chamber, with the heroine Cui Yingying and her servant walking in a palace garden beneath the window of the hero and young scholar Zheng Sheng playing a stringed instrument. The scene takes place at night, shown by the moon and constellations on the upper right, and the sleeping servant at his side. Most beautifully painted in vivid enamels featuring black enamel as well (unusual). The vases, screen, and other decorative elements in the scene are particularly finely painted as well.
