Rare Chinese Green Ground Famille Verte Porcelain Plate

Kangxi period

Decorated with peach-shaped reserves of a
Court lady in a garden, arranged around a
central stylized floral emblem, and separated
by a large stylized exotic flower.  Beautifully
painted in bright enamels upon a light green
ground, notched along the rim to simulate a
large leaf.   Plates of this color combination
and type are extremely rare.  A very similar
pair of plates from the Ionides Collection,
England were sold by this gallery and are now
in private American Collection.
Kangxi period, AD 1662-1722
Diameter: 11 ¼ inches (28.5 cm.)
