Description

Of quatrefoil form with overarching bale handle and everted spout.  The cover, of complementary shape. Masterfully painted with reserves of birds in flowering chrysanthemums and other plants.  The neck and shoulder decorated with archaic dragons and seeded reserves and chrysanthemum reserved painted in famille noire (extremely rare).
The cover with similar reserves of birds, flowers, and rockery.  All painted in the finest quality in deep tones.  The subtle famille noire reserves are of particular note and rarity.
The quality of the painting is among the finest known to us on Kangxi teapots and relate to the finest examples in notable old Western private and museum collections.
