Description

Decorated with Court Ladies with jardinières in a palace garden.
The underfoot of each with a mark previously identified as a an unusual Jesuit or merchant’s cipher, but more recently identitfied as the initials of Joan van Hoorn, Governor General of the former Dutch East-Indies.
Identical bottles are in the historic collection of Augustus the Strong in the Zwinger Museum,
Dresden. Another is in the Osaka Museum of Fine Arts.
