Fine and Unusual Chinese Sancai Figure of Guanyin

Description

Bodhisattva of Mercy and Protector of women and children.
Posed seated in the position of "royal ease" and holding a fly whisk and pearl of wisdom.
The Guanyin is dressed in a long robe decorated in a spinach and egg pattern.
She wears a hood that paritally covers her high coiffure.  Her robe is tied with an unusal elaborate bow,
Her face in finely modelled with a serene expression, and the folds of her robe are particularly well detailed.
Kangxi period, AD 1662-1722
